With Westjet, Mesaba and Bearskin operating out of YKF, who's next?

I guess with the start of winter we will see the return of SSV charters.

I'm not sure there will be much more unless Westjet add something perhaps eastbound.

The good news is the continuing increased levels of biz jets and cargo flights.

Long may this continue.

Took my sons cub pack out to YKF for a tour of Inflite Services.

In addition to the usual inmates the following were seen :

C-GJVH SA227
N750DM Cit X
N83CW GV
N414DH G200

F50 GXBB was in on maintenance with engines removed.

The two T33's were parked outside.

During the tour it was mentioned that WestJet are going to run a service out to Halifax come the spring. Time will tell if this happens.

David,

Are the T-33's based there? Would love to see them.

The airport has grown so much.

Is there a good place to spot or photo there?

Yes you could say that the T33's are based here.

YKF is pretty spotter friendly and the guys at inflite who look after the T33's are always pretty open to letting you out on the ramp.

Any winter charters at YKF? Skyservice, Sunwing, etc? I believe at night. Too bad no picture during day time.

It sounds like the seasonal airlines are booked solid this week at YKF which is great news for the airport as keeping the airlines happy has been the hardest issue for them in the past. If west jet expands to give YKF a link to the east beyond quebec that will hopefully be as well used as the western calgary route has been.

Gerry there is a great spot for spotting at the end of runway 08 which is the main runway at 7,000ft now. When YKF had its fly in during 06 it was great spotting at the end of the runway and also I went out there for the first WJ flight last year too.
