Dayton 2009

Just had to start this one too!!!!

I'm sure some of you must have some good pics from this show!

Any way, B_Locks and I did some very different airport watching today (well, quite different from our usual CYXU).

We got this glimpse at Wright Patterson AFB (on the way over to the Dayton Airshow) and were guessing that this may be the 747 with the big Laser? Anybody know for sure what this is?

Tough to tell, but looks like an E-4B from the paint on the nose..?

Ya, I got a look at some pictures of the big laser 747 on google and this one definitely isn't that ship!

Sorry, my picture isn't that great as I took it as we were driving by on the way to the airshow. (They also have a few more fences to take a picture through, compared to CYXU!! LOL)

Geez, today as we were leaving Dayton we drove over to where the C5's were parked one last time, and just as we came to that end of the airfield, a U2 took off! My camera was still stowed in the back of the van!!!! (Nuts!!!!!!!!!)

These images can't convey just how lousy the weather was on Saturday - cold and heavy overcast.

Just for fun, here are some special ones. The first is actually a panorama of two images since my lens wasn't wide enough to get both. The other two are normal images that I tone mapped to give them a surreal look.

I did two versions of this one because I really like it. For some reason it feels like he's going to blow the hell out of the airfield.

And to give credit where credit is due, my girlfriend took this just after I climbed into the backseat.
