Thought I'd post a heads-up on what is being planned for next year. Nothing is written in stone, just the preliminary planning going on.

June 19-20 CWH Flyfest
June 19-20 CFB Borden Canadian Forces Day & Air Show
June 23 Wings over Sarnia
June 26-27 Air Show Ottawa
Aug 14-15 Waterloo Aviation Expo 2010
Aug 21-22 Windsor International Air Show
Sep 1 Rotary Brantford Charity Air Show
Sep 4-6 Canadian International Air Show

Not too shabby a line-up. Hoping to see London added to this list!

Paul

This isn't 100% yet but there is a good possibility of a warbird flyin/airshow in Windsor seperate from the international airshow. This would also become an annual event, right now they are considering a date in mid to late September. Also RBAR will most likely be returning to Windsor next year, again not 100% but we should know soon if it's happening or not.

Well at least Waterloo isn't overlapping with another ontario show this year as it stands right now lol.

Looks like Waterloo will be going big next year too. They have requests in for Snowbirds, Skyhawks and CF-18. As long as this doesn't overlap with any other shows, there's a good chance they'll land them all.

Paul

Maybe a T-33 or 2 as well

If things with the Hammond T-33s get sorted I'm sure they will. I know that Rick was pretty drained though after this year so I hope he can still really be involved. Maybe one of ours will be ready by then too!

Any word if London will come back for 2010? Their were rummours kicking around that it would.

Looks like the start of a good year, also Russell Aviation Group should be the first weekend of June if they have one.

Don't forget the Tiger Boys in Guelph on September 18th and 19th next year.

Although the following shows aren't in Ontario, they are close enough for us Southern and Southwestern Ontario folks to be able to catch them, especially if they turn out to have a jet team like the Blues, Thunderbirds, or Snowbirds.

I found these shows listed on the Navy's 2010 Eligible Events page:

Detroit July 8-10
Rochester July 17-18
Niagara Falls ARS August 7-8
Thunder Over Michigan August 7-8

So it looks like a good year for shows both in Ontario and across the border that are fairly close to all our homes. I'm not sure what is up with the Detroit listing. Red Bull Air Race perhaps? Niagara Falls last show was in 2007. So hopefully they will be having a big year. The Thunderbirds were there in 2007 and the last time the Blues performed was in 2004, so here's hoping for one of those two teams to return.

Of course, as was mentioned earlier, all these dates are preliminary and are more then likely going to change.

The Detroit request is for the APBA Gold Cup. If RBAR comes back here and they do request US Navy support it'll be listed as Windsor because we'll be the host city again.

Very excited to see Thunder over Niagara move to May. Hopefully at that time of year the opportunity to get a decent mount of military TAC demos, can present itself. Also the Snowbirds have this date open on their schedule, hopefully Niagara can negotiate with them to appear.

Hey the Dayton airshow (July 17 - 18) is only a 5 hour drive from London, and they are getting the Blue Angels!! Just love going to that show every year then check out all the sights around Wright Patterson including the Air Force Museum!
