After their loss to Montreal tonight, Calgary is flying into Windsor on the Jetz A320 for their game in Detroit Wednesday night.

Hey guys,

Most Canadian teams have been signed on by AC Jets and prefer to use YQG when playing Detroit. The exception being if they are on a US road trip.
For example last month the Habs played Detroit and then on to Washington.
They flew into DTW for ease of customs....

Calgary actually travelled in YQG and flew out of DTW for customs.

If you see a CDN team or US team that is playing the Red Wings and then playing another CDN team watch for a YQG arrival. The Bruins have also signed on with AC Jets for this season. First time an American team has signed on with Air Canada.

Strange to see a Canadian airline flying from Detroit to Boston.

Thanks for the info. Do you know when they will be leaving?

The aircraft left for DTW this afternoon. Maybe a 5 minute hop!

I am new to the site. Am I correct that every Canadian NHL Team fly direct to YQG from Canadian airports to play Red Wings? Would be nice to spot planes at YQG.

I'm not sure, I haven't seen any of the planes come in for the Canadian NHL teams. Gerry probably knows better though how it works.

BTW Spotting at YQG is pretty boring, all we get are Jazz Dash 8's, the Sunwing 737's 3 times a week but most of the time they come in at night and any privately owned aircraft that come in or are based at YQG. Once in a while we'll get a CAF Herc that comes down for a few hours but thats about it...
