Well....I started the same topic for the YXU airport...so I figured why not for YYZ since I got some overflight pictures from Pearson as well.

Mark,

I often sit in the backyard looking at flights overhead with my binoculars, but with a few exceptions, have no idea what aircraft I'm looking at. These photos will help me ID them. Keep them coming. Would be great to have a large variety of aircraft that I can reference when outside.

Testing out the new lens with a 2x converter.

This was taken from Trafalgar Road and Derry Road. Effective 800mm or 16x magnification.

How can you tell this is a 777? What distinguishing features are you looking at? I cant tell a 757 from a 767 from a 777 from an Airbus, etc. I was trying to find a website that helps in ID'ing overflight aircraft, but haven't had any success. Anyone know of any sites?

Funny enough, I saw the same type fly over about 18:00 today. Same airline, same aircraft type. I'll have to have a close look at the wing tips and engines from now on. I should be able to tell a 777 now anyway.

The best identical for 777 is the only aircraft with tail shorter than stablizer

http://www.airliners.net/photo/Air-Indi ... 1218165/L/

Stablizer is further back than tail
