Meant to post this earlier.. Sunday at the cliff (just east of Pt. Stanley) we had an L-39 in gray camo flying south, real low, a mile east of us, then turned and followed the shoreline east. Anyone heard of this kind of jet around? Wonder where he came from..

Hi Jason,
That was Steve Milligans L-39. The aircraft was being used by ITPS (one of JAM's tenants) to do spin training. They were all over the place on Sunday, trying to find holes in the sky to do the training. I know they were headed down around Lake Erie.

This is what it looked like when the L-39 was doing the spin training.

There were a pair of German registered Learjets departing London as I pulled in late this afternoon. I just got a shot of the second one D-CARL. The other one was D-CGFG. They appear to be used to tow targets for the Germans - see http://www.planesandchoppers.com/picture/number3213.asp. Dave Irwin

Nice shot Dave. I got to the airport just a few minutes short. I was driving from work and noticed the D-???? registrations on my RadarBox (I know, I'm nuts for having it turned on in my car). Well...at least you got it.
There is always next time.....They come by on regular basis.

Mark,
Any chance you're going to be around the airport on Sunday? I'd really like to see your radar box in action, and I'm free on Sunday.

My intention is to pop by the airport at some point on Sunday.....I hope to see the plane that Bill Cosby will arrive on (he has a 1pm and 5pm show at JLC).
Today (sat.) I'm going to YYZ for the day...should be nice.

GLF4 reg. N712CC arrived last night around 11pm. From a picture on Flightaware.com, it is pretty safe to assume that Bill Cosby is already in town.
Also as I write, Jazz CRJ1 flight JZA7703 from YYZ is circling the airport due to the fog. Reg. C-FWRR

Dave, Mark, Anyone: I hear there were 4 of those German Learjets picked up on SBS shortly after 4:00. Did they all transit through London (they usually travel in groups of 3 or 4)? I saw one lifting off shortly after 3:30 and another lining up. I presume they were the two noted below? I took the Learjets shots about 3:35 and I stayed till about 5:00 without seeing any others. So, if there were more than two they would have had to leave before about 3:30. Hope that helps. Dave Irwin
