Well its no airshow but I attended the NASCAR race this weekend down at Michigan International Speedway near Jackson Michigan and I was witness to an awesome Surprise. For Saturdays Nationwide race (Nascar's OHL for the NHL) they had Two CF-18 Hornets for the flyover. Unfortunatly one of the 25+ Year old Birds had problems or "Went Red Ball on start up" as the pilot of "Nightmare 4" said to Race Control Ops. So it was a single ship pass for both the Canadian anthem and American anthem. He had to hustle around for the US anthem but he was bang on both times.

Sunday for the Sprint Cup Series (the big boys) was a real treat! "Nightmare 4" returned with Two USANG F-16's from Selfridge ANGB. Again the Hornet did a fantastic job for the Canadian Anthem, this time with a little more noise for the 130,000+ in attendance. And "Demon 1 and 2" did a great formation pass for the US Anthem with a nice vertical Exit on Burner. Just as we thought it was over, the CF-18 came screaming in from behind us on full burner and went to the vertical aswell.

This was in Celebration of NORAD 50th Anniversary
as quick write up can be found here http://www.norad.mil/News/2008/081208.html

No Pics sorry, I was too intoxicated to remember my camera and I didn't know it was gonna be the awesome flyby is was!
