Thought I would post a scan of a rare sight at the last Centralia airshow about 6 years ago. I was told that this was the first and probably last time that a Snowbird jet (in this case, Snowbird #1, Maj Bob Painchaud) would fly a formation with civilian pilots. Of course, the other pilots are no slouches either...Bill Carter, Ken Fowler, and "Pitch" Molnar from Air Combat Canada. They were only allowed to fly this formation before the gates opened, so very few people even saw it. I was one of the lucky ones because I got to fly with Bill that morning, so I was on site when they went up. The scan isn't very good, because the picture isn't very good. It was a very hazy day, and visibility just wasn't very clear. But hey, it's a unique shot.

Paul,

What a great post.

I remember these shows well.
They had some spectacular flybys.

4 X CF-18 Airfield attack stuff was awesome.

I will have to dig out my photos and start scanning.

The NAS Dallas F-14 arriving with the arrestor gear was fantastic as well.
NAS Fallon F-18 in camo was another one that come to mind.

Nice one Paul. I had never even heard of that formation being performed.
