I ran into one of the firefighters that work at the airport and there is talk of a proposal of building a practice area for the airport fire department. He wouldn't say where they were thinking of building. It is getting to expensive sending the guys to Thunder bay for their recurrency. That is the reason they want to build, each guy has to go do a currency check once a year. I would like to see the guys at work putting out a mock aircraft. |

Didn't they used to have a training area just west down the road from the Air Force Club? I remember my parents taking me there to watch when I was a kid. |

Your right! There was training area right where you mentioned. They had to stop due to enviromental concerns. They currently have no way of recovering any of the extinguishent. |
