Starting with course 0805 all multi serials coming through the multi school here in portage will be assigned a nose art to research that will be placed onto one of the King Airs they fly. The nose arts are actual ones that were used in WWII and begins with the last letter in the registration of the plane. The first nose art is on C-FMFR and is 'Ruhr Express' which was worn by a Lancaster from 419sqn during WWII. It was the first Lancaster built in Canada. They even went to the detail of painting on the original Brit registration on the fin below the vert stab and the 'missions flown' markers under the drivers side window. Pretty cool idea, thought I'd share some pics I was able to snap today.

Sidenote; note the rabbit included with the bomb marks. Migratory birds get pretty bad around here, so we do a bunch of flight safety briefings ref the subject... but apparently this King Air had a rabbit strike on the runway here in Southport! Don't think the poor li'l guy made it.

Great stuff Andy. Please keep us up to date on your progress. You should be having a ton of Tundra Swans moving through your area now, so watch out!

Yeah, we had a brief on the birds a few weeks ago. They showed a map of the migratory patterns and for some reason all the birds seemed to funnel through a narrow corridor right over our area! Almost hit a hawk of some sort today.
